Grow fresh broccoli sprouts at home with That Leaf non GMO broccoli sprouting seeds. Broccoli is one of our favourite varieties to grow, producing fresh, crunchy sprouts with a mild flavour in just a few days.

Grow them as sprouts in your That Leaf sprouting jar or let them grow a little longer as broccoli microgreens.

Pack Size

90 g non GMO broccoli seeds

Suitable for both sprouting and growing as microgreens.

How Much Do I Need?

Sprouting jar: Use approximately 15 to 20 g per batch. One 90 g packet will grow at least 4 full jars of fresh broccoli sprouts.

Microgreens: These seeds can also be grown as broccoli microgreens in a tray with growing medium.

Why Broccoli?

Broccoli sprouts are naturally rich in glucoraphanin, a plant compound that can be converted into sulforaphane when the sprouts are chewed or chopped.

They have a fresh, mild flavour and a delicate crunch, making them easy to add to salads, sandwiches, bowls, smoothies or simply eat by the handful.

They're also quick to grow, with fresh sprouts usually ready to harvest in around 3 to 6 days.

How to Grow Broccoli Sprouts

Add approximately 15 to 20 g of broccoli seeds to your sprouting jar and soak in cool water for 8 to 12 hours.

Drain well, then rinse and drain 2 to 3 times each day. Keep your jar inverted at an angle between rinses so excess water can drain and air can circulate.

Keep the jar out of direct sunlight while the seeds germinate.

Your broccoli sprouts are usually ready to harvest in around 3 to 6 days, once they've developed their little green leaves.

Full growing instructions are included with every That Leaf Sprouting Jar Kit.

Can I Grow Them as Microgreens?

Yes. Broccoli seeds can also be grown as microgreens using a tray and growing medium.

Instead of harvesting after just a few days as sprouts, allow them to continue growing until they've developed into young broccoli microgreens.

They're suitable for growing with the That Leaf Microgreens Grow Kit.

Broccoli sprouting seeds are intended for growing edible sprouts. Some garden seeds may be treated or intended specifically for growing mature plants, so always choose seeds suitable for sprouting when growing sprouts to eat.

Yes. Soak your broccoli seeds in cool water for approximately 8 to 12 hours before draining and beginning your regular rinse and drain routine.

Broccoli sprouts are usually ready in around 3 to 6 days. Growing time can vary depending on temperature and growing conditions.

Glucoraphanin is a naturally occurring plant compound found in broccoli and particularly concentrated in young broccoli sprouts. When broccoli sprouts are chewed or chopped, an enzyme called myrosinase helps convert glucoraphanin into another plant compound called sulforaphane. This is one of the reasons broccoli sprouts have become such an interesting area of nutrition research.

Yes. These seeds are suitable for both sprouting and growing as microgreens. Sow them into a tray with growing medium and allow them to continue growing beyond the sprout stage until the young microgreens are ready to harvest. They can also be grown using the That Leaf Microgreens Grow Kit.

Once your broccoli sprouts are ready, keep them refrigerated at 5°C or below. At That Leaf, we keep our sprouts in the sprouting jar with the mesh lid rather than sealing them in an airtight container. While they're in the fridge, rinse and drain them thoroughly once a day and return them to the fridge. Always use clean hands and equipment, rinse thoroughly and discard sprouts if they develop an unusual smell, appearance or texture.
